You Determine Your Own Destiny

Is your destiny waiting to happen?

Are you settling for a life ordinary?

Too many people whine about not having the life they want. The main reason people fall short of their own expectations is the same reason most companies fail to achieve their objectives: poor planning and execution.

In fact, I am amazed at how many successful executives create strategy for their business, leaving their life to chance. Often it’s more comfortable (note I didn’t say easier) to complain and blame outside factors for lack of accomplishment or unhappiness than to take time to work on life rather than in it.

It’s the top tier in the grand scheme of possibilities and where your dreams come true. You have to be willing to take that first step to reach your potential, even if it’s a risk. With great risk comes great failure. Let’s flip that phrase around. With great risk comes great reward. Ultimately, that means there’s no greater risk than no risk at all.

SELF MADE

Each person is essentially self-made. The person you are may have been determined by your childhood experiences. But the person that you become, the person that you may be, is completely under your own control.

The great principle, that “You become what you think about most of the time” refers to what you are thinking today, at this very moment. It is not your thinking of the past, or your thinking in the future, that determines the course of your destiny. Everything you are, and everything you will be, is determined by the thoughts that you think at each moment. And you can take complete control of those thoughts at any time you decide to.

You become an optimist by taking control of your inner dialogue, your self-talk. I continually hear from older people that they can’t learn social media or new technology. Yes, most didn’t grow up with it, but we can all learn something new and fresh if we commit.

These are exciting times we life in, take control, forge ahead and make a new path. Use these changes to grow and develop until you draw your last breath.
Resolve today to develop the habit of talking to yourself in a positive way. Say things to yourself like, “I like myself!” Say, “I can do it!” over and over again. If someone asks you how you are feeling today, always reply by saying “I feel terrific!” When you think about your job, repeat to yourself, “I love my work! I love my work!”

Fully 95% of your emotions are determined by the things you think and the words you say to yourself as you go throughout your day. Use your self-discipline and self-control to think and talk about the things you want, rather than allowing your mind to become preoccupied with the things that you don’t want, or with your doubts and fears.

FATE

Freedom of Choice Shapes Our Fate

The most important factor that shapes our fate or destiny is, in fact, the decisions that we make at the turning points in our lives. Our life as it is now is created by the results of the choices we ourselves made according to the tendencies of our own mind, each time we encountered a specific event.

It may thus be said that it is none other than freedom of choice which is the most important factor in shaping a person’s fate or destiny.

The starting point to shaping our own fate is to abandon the cowardly attitude of blaming other people or our environment for our present unhappiness or mistakes; we must adopt the stance that “everything is our own responsibility.”

In addition, it is important to change the state of our mind, reflect on the tendencies of our own soul and break free from committing the same mistakes again. People who observe themselves and others with an inquiring mind, who minutely analyze the habits, tendencies, strengths and weaknesses of their being, and who continually strive to change themselves and discard their current self: these are the people whose fate will change.

SETTLE FOR

Why settle for a life ordinary?

Strive for more by aiming to reach your full potential. By following your heart and chasing your dreams, there will be passion behind your efforts, and you’ll gain power over your fate. This same power allows you to be who you were always meant to be and to live your most extraordinary life.

You keep saying “after”

You delay going after your dream until after this happens or after that happens because you are afraid you’re going to fail. You believe that if you don’t start, you can’t fail. That’s a great way to avoid failure, but a terrible way to live a satisfying life.

The time is never going to be perfect. In fact, the timing probably will never even be good. Waiting for a time that is never going to arrive will keep you settling for less. Act now.

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU WILL BE

The most powerful affirmation or message that you can send from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind is a visualization or mental image. Develop the habit of creating clear, positive, exciting pictures of yourself performing at your best, and of your goals as if they were already achieved.
Each time you create a mental image in your conscious mind, you send a message that activates your subconscious mind, triggers the Law of Attraction, stimulates your creativity, and moves you toward the realization of that mental picture in your external world.

Positive, successful people make a habit of continually visualizing the outcomes that they desire, thereby programming their subconscious minds and shaping their self-image and their external performance.

But best of all is when you combine positive self-talk with positive mental imaging. You talk about the things you want and you create exciting mental pictures of your goals and desires as if they already existed in your reality. Positive thoughts and words make you more optimistic, give you more energy, enable you to bounce back faster from disappointment and keep you moving forward throughout the day.

“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.”
― Babe Ruth

The alternative is settling for less for the rest of your life. You deserve better. Take one step today.
