The Iron Law of Social Media Success

Iron Law of Social Media_Prepare1Do you desire to succeed?

Did you know there are laws at work that provide you the success you are seeking?

Have you heard of the Law of Cause and Effect?  This is the foundation principle of modern thought. It says that for every cause, there is an effect. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by accident. This law says that, even if you do not know the reason why something happens, there is still a reason that explains it.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES

Here is one of the most important of all social media marketing success principles: “If you do what other successful people do, you will eventually get the same results that they do. And if you don’t, you won’t.”

Nature is neutral. Nature does not favor one person over another.

When you do the things that other successful people do, over and over again, you will eventually get the same results that they do. It is not a matter of luck, or chance, or accident. It is a matter of law. So seek out the ones who are successful in social media marketing and emulate them.

What do successful social media marketers have in common?

1. Specialization

They focus on…

Three Main Areas:

  • Markets
  • Customers
  • Products & Services

2. Uniqueness

Ask yourself…

  • What is my competitive advantage today?
  • What makes us unique?
  • What makes your product or service superior to that of any of your competitors?

3. Being Focused

Develop the habit of thinking like a social media marketing genius. Develop the habit of asking yourself questions like:

  • In what areas do we specialize?
  • What social media platforms work best to reach customers?
  • In what areas are we superior to our competitors in our area of specialization?
  • What are the strategies and tactics we use to implement for success?
  • Who are the most desirable and attractive market segments for what it is that we do better than anyone else?
  • How can we organize ourselves to concentrate all of our resources on selling more to those customers who most appreciate what we can do for them better than our competitors?

4. Great Content

  • Solves a problem
  • Is fun and engaging
  • Moves people emotionally
  • Is relevant to their target audience
  • Shares at peak times for each social media platform
  • Knows where to get great content
  • Produce content consistently

All these are skills that can be developed. Practiced often enough they become habits, whether good or bad. You are the captain of your ship and you set the sail.

YOU CAN LEARN ANYTHING

Many of you know that my father was passionate about learning. He believed as I…the day you stop learning is the day you die. He believed that until he drew his last breath. Most people stop learning when they graduate, how tragic.

Can you really afford to get behind in today’s fast paced business world?

You too could learn anything that you need to learn to achieve any goal you set for yourself. Find the WHY in everything you do. Find out the cause and effect relationships in any area of endeavor, and then apply them to your own activities. If you did this, you will soon get the same results that other successful people get.

So what is your plan for learning social media marketing?

TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE

Life happens…right? Remember, from the poorest to the richest person, they all have 24 hours a day to maximize their life.

How are you controlling those hours? Wasting them on unproductive activities or laser focused on what you want to be and where you want to go! Social Media platforms are popping up all over. Ello is the latest one that markets privacy unlike Facebook. Then there’s Boomeon for the baby boomers. Remember these are just tools, then will change and be replaced. Be PREPARED!

Take Control of Your Life_Prepare1

THE LAW OF CONTROL

Are you happy with where you are in business?

“You feel happy to the degree to which you feel you are in control of your own life. You feel unhappy to the degree to which you feel you are not in control of your own life.”

Modern psychology calls this “Locus of Control Theory.” Psychologists differentiate between an internal locus of control and an external locus of control. Your locus of control is where you feel the control exists in each area of your life. This location determines your happiness or unhappiness more than any other factor.

Sometimes it’s hard to feel in control when social media platforms are changing as fast as they are. Yet, most businesses have a website. That’s their center of control, it’s the main focus the hub if you will. Social Media just complements your hub (website).

THE POWER OF BELIEF

The Power of Belief_Prepare1

“Whatever you believe, with conviction, becomes your reality.” Many business owners believe that social media is for young people. Each generation grows up with a different set of technologies. Remember never stop learning. Doesn’t matter your age you can still learn and apply these tools if you believe you can. If believe you can’t you won’t.

The worst of all beliefs are self-limiting beliefs. These are beliefs that you have developed through life, usually false, that cause you to believe that you are limited in some way. Your negative beliefs soon become habitual ways of thinking. You may believe that you lack…

  • Intelligence
  • Creativity
  • Engagement
  • Learning new technologies
  • Personality
  • The ability to speak publicly
  • The ability to earn a high income
  • The achieve your goals.

As a result of your self-limiting beliefs, you continually “sell yourself short,” give up easily in the pursuit of a goal, and even worse, tell other people around you that you lack certain qualities or abilities. How you approach social media is no different.

I see self limiting beliefs everyday with older business owners. Let’s get my niece or nephew to do social media. Yet many fail to realize they have the capability to do it themselves if they would only learn. Then again, many business owners fail to marry the youth with the business side of social media. Be sure to tie social media to your companies goals and objectives, otherwise it will be a complete waste of time and effort.

When you put the Laws of Cause and Effect, Belief, Learning and Expectations, together, you arrive at the great universal principle that explains your life and everything that happens to you:

“You become what you think about – most of the time.”
